19 of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hardcourt
A revitalized Medvedev secured his first title for over two years with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.
Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has experienced a difficult period, winning just one match at the major tournaments and undergoing a meltdown at the US Open.
His unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serve in specific - caused him dropping out of the top ten and finally parting ways with long-time coach his previous coach.
Currently collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - culminating in a tightly fought three-set win over challenger Moutet.
It is his first championship following the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard surface after spring of that year.
Victory also means he has achieved twenty-one titles at 21 distinct tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a tournament with my two daughters together, so to secure a title is particularly special," commented ranked player the champion.
"This championship is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the first title I won when my child her name was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his previous six finals, featuring in that event previously this season.
His retrieving approach and frequent emotional displays on the playing surface had led some to wonder if his ability to perform at the top level was finished.
But the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, making an effort to approach the net and play positively, supported by an improved serve.
The champion fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging opponent, taking 4 of the final five exchanges to gain the advantage.
The competitors exchanged service breaks in the following set before the challenger, attempting for his initial professional title, gained dominance to create a final set.
The opponent rescued 4 initial opportunities in a tight third set before the champion won the break to fifteen to close out the victory.
Suitably, the winner secured victory with a rally at the front of the court, with the Frenchman incapable to manage a volley after over two and a half hours.
